During the delegation’s visit to Tibet, Ju Jianhua, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of China's Tibet Autonomous Region met with the delegation. The delegation also visited the Potala Palace, the Norbulingka, the Jokhang Temple, the Tibet Museum, the Tibet University and some Tibetan families. The delegates gained an in-depth understanding of the ethnic regional autonomy policy and religious freedom policy, and witnessed the development of the Tibet Autonomous Region. They also praised the great achievements made by the Chinese central government in promoting development, insuring people's livelihood and protecting culture in the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Nirj Deva, Head of the delegation, said that Lhasa was neat and clean, the Tibetans, Hans and Huis all lived in harmony and their life quality was as good as that in Beijing and Shanghai, which exceeded his expectations.
"I saw the modern electrical appliances in the second floor of Baima Qunjiao. The family spoke in Tibetan language and the old man chanted at home." Nirj Deva said. "I think China's achievements in the 30 years of reform and opening up are common in Tibet, which could be reflected in the farmer's home. I will tell the Europeans what I have seen and heard in Tibet."
